Coach’s Advantage Program to Reach More Coaches through an Agreement with the National Strength and Conditioning Association

nsca coach advantage

Launched in 2010 and updated annually as a comprehensive resource for coaches, the Coach’s Advantage® program will now reach even more trainers and coaches thanks to a new agreement established between the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and USADA. Both organizations recognize that coaches are uniquely positioned to help athletes make healthy and positive choices, both in and out-of-competition.

As some of the most influential people in athletes’ lives, coaches can play a powerful role in keeping sport clean by helping athletes understand and act upon their anti-doping responsibilities. Coach’s Advantage covers the latest anti-doping information, including the WADA Prohibited List and the sample collection process.

“USADA is excited to share our Coach’s Advantage tutorials with the NSCA membership,” said USADA Education Manager Tammy Hanson. “Research has shown that coaches are often ranked as the number one most important influence in an athlete’s life, so we are glad to work with the NSCA to help this group of elite coaches best serve their clean athletes.”

By sharing USADA’s online tutorial with more than 40,000 NSCA-certified strength and conditioning professionals, the organizations will help preserve the integrity of competition, inspire true sport, and protect the rights of athletes. Starting in 2017, NSCA will give its members, other certified professionals, and the public access to Coach’s Advantage videos at no cost, ensuring that the educational content reaches as many people as possible.

According to NSCA Executive Director, Michael Massik, “It’s a win, win, win. This partnership enables the NSCA to continue to equip and support coaches, gives USADA a new way to reach more professionals with vital information about anti-doping, and ensures the coaches are equipped with information that enables them to make a positive impact with athletes and the sport.”
