Below is a statement from United States Anti-Doping Agency Chief Executive Officer Terry Madden on the Dwain Chambers’ ruling:

“The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency is pleased with today’s decision in the Dwain Chambers’ case.  After consideration from top scientists from the United Kingdom and the United States, the Panel concluded that ‘THG is a synthesized steroid derived from gestrinone, designed to enhance athletic performance through androgenic anabolic effect and yet remain undetectable. The health risks to which athletes are exposed by its administration may be very serious. It is clearly a prohibited substance.’ With the valuable assistance of the UCLA Laboratory and the IAAF, we look forward to the THG hearings in this country.”

USADA is responsible for the testing and results management process for athletes in the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movement, and is equally dedicated to preserving the integrity of sport through research initiatives and educational programs.
