HealthPro Advantage USADA logo. The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) is pleased to announce the launch of an enhanced anti-doping education tool for health professionals in collaboration with Stanford Medicine.

“This new course provides health professionals with current anti-doping policies in sports and increased access to online accredited continuing education,” said Stanford Center for Continuing Medical Education, Associate Dean Post Graduate Medical Education, Dr. Daryl Oakes.

Stanford Medicine accredited and originally launched the course USADA developed in 2015, making it the first anti-doping course in the world to offer continuing medical education (CME) credit to physicians. Not only are these credits recognized by the American Medical Association and Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers (ATs), but the new version of the course incorporates more interactive elements and engaging activities to make it easier than ever for health professionals to learn how to support athletes in their anti-doping efforts.

“USADA is thrilled to relaunch this critically important learning opportunity for health professionals in collaboration with Stanford,” said USADA Chief Science Officer Dr. Matthew Fedoruk. “As a trusted resource for athletes when it comes to medications and supplements, health professionals of all specialties play an incredibly important role in sport and anti-doping, so it is vital that health professionals who treat athletes are knowledgeable about the anti-doping rules and responsibilities surrounding these patients.”

HealthPro Advantage covers the topics that are most relevant to health professionals, including the World Anti-Doping Agency Prohibited List and Therapeutic Use Exemptions, as well as sample collection procedures, anti-doping rule violations, and rules related to Major Games. Developed by USADA, the redesigned course features an interactive design with knowledge checks, videos, animations, and scenarios devised to make the course both educational and engaging.

The course is hosted and accredited by the Stanford Center for Continuing Medical Education, which is known as a global leader in the promotion of lifelong learning among professionals in healthcare and provides the highest quality educational materials to more than 70,000 physician learners.

HealthPro Advantage is easily accessible through the Stanford Center for Continuing Medical Education portal.

This course is available for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (2.25 hours), Non-Physician Participation Credit (2.25 hours), and BOC Category A Hours/CEUs (2.25 hours). Stanford Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
