On September 29, 2009, USADA CEO Travis T. Tygart appeared before a Senate Judiciary Committee, Subcommittee on Crime and Drugs, at a hearing in Washington D.C. titled “Body Building Products and Hidden Steroids: Enforcement Barriers.” This hearing brought needed attention to the limited regulation in the supplement industry and the need for pre-market notification and post-market enforcement changes to improve the current situation.

USADA is responsible for the testing and results management process for athletes in the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movement, and is equally dedicated to preserving the integrity of sport through research initiatives and educational programs.
