TrueSport, a movement powered by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), is pleased to announce its third year of partnership with the University of Denver Pioneers lacrosse camps and clinics, powered by LXTC.
Together, TrueSport and LXTC will provide values-based curriculum and education on the sport of lacrosse to over 1,000 athletes this summer. Through four camp sessions, each child will learn about topics such as, leadership, goal-setting, teamwork, and nutrition. Through these camps, both youth and high school lacrosse players can learn the fundamentals, skills, strategies, and techniques that it takes to become a high level lacrosse player, while learning about the values and life lessons learned through sport.
The camp sessions will be led by Bill Tierney, University of Denver men’s head lacrosse coach and LXTC lacrosse owner and CEO; TrueSport Ambassador, Trevor Tierney, University of Denver men’s assistant lacrosse coach and LXTC lacrosse president; Matt Brown, University of Denver men’s associate head lacrosse coach and LXTC lacrosse vice president; and they will be joined by University of Denver men’s lacrosse coaching staff and players.
“All of us at LXTC, including DU coaches Bill Tierney and Matt Brown, believe that athletics is one of the most powerful environments for supporting the development of young men and women for the rest of their lives,” said Trevor Tierney. “There is no greater organization for us to be partnered with in this endeavor than True Sport.”
From beginners to advanced level players, Bill Tierney has been running lacrosse camps for decades and has the ultimate formula to help young players improve and learn new skills. Throughout the camp, each child and parent will be encouraged to take the TrueSport pledge and uphold the values of courage, respect, teamwork, integrity, and responsibility.
“Our partnership with LXTC has been a great success over the past 3 years. Bill and Trevor Tierney and their fellow coaches embody what it means to be TrueSport Champions and their dedication to teaching our lessons has left a lasting and positive impact on thousands of youth lacrosse athletes,” said Christina Seel, TrueSport event and program lead.
