OK, this is quite a common question, “I saw ‘consent to research’ on the DCF. What does that mean, and does it impact my sample?” OK, so anti-doping science is a constantly evolving field. But to do this we need real samples in the lab to validate different test methods. And also to make sure that all the instruments are running smoothly. So, if you consent to your sample being used in research, you’ll be helping to advance the field. And that will be used in the future to advance anti-doping knowledge. But it’s really important to know that this is only done once your sample has had all its analysis completed. And most importantly, it’s de-identified which means it’s completely anonymous and none of the results will be traced back to you.
