This is an interesting one, “My doctor told me to participate in a clinical trial. Is this breaking any anti-doping rules?” OK, so drugs in development and undergoing clinical trials could be considered prohibited if they fall into one of the banned substance categories on the WADA Prohibited List, or if they have the potential to be performance-enhancing. So, it’s important that before participating in any clinical trials that you contact USADA’s TUE & Drug Reference Team to determine if a TUE is required.

USADA is committed to protecting clean athletes and promoting fair competition. As the official anti-doping agency for the United States, USADA provides education, testing, and resources that empower athletes to compete with integrity and confidence.
