Hi everyone, I’m Dr. Matt Fedoruk, the Chief Science Officer at USADA. I’m here to answer some frequently asked questions from athletes. The first question is, “If my TUE application is denied, what can I do?” When we deny a TUE application, we’re required to provide a reason or reasons for that denial. Those reasons can include things like, it doesn’t meet the International Standard for TUEs, and it may be because you haven’t provided enough information to confirm the diagnosis as was diagnosed by your primary care provider. So, we send a letter asking for more information. You’re welcome to address those issues and further submit an application in order for further consideration.
USADA is committed to protecting clean athletes and promoting fair competition. As the official anti-doping agency for the United States, USADA provides education, testing, and resources that empower athletes to compete with integrity and confidence.
