Athlete Rights and Responsibilities

An important part of USADA's mission is to protect the rights of athletes who wish to compete on a fair and level playing field. This in part has been accomplished through the establishment of a thorough testing program which complies with the WADA Code and its international standards. In order to maintain an effective Code compliant testing program, USADA relies on, and expects athletes to adhere to a number of responsibilities which are in place to ensure the program's effectiveness. Additionally, athletes who are subject to USADA testing maintain a number of rights during the doping control process and in accordance with special testing circumstances.
